Dingle Fingle and his comedy car were received very well at this year’s Uxbridge Charity autoshow! The audience were on top form with great participation (which is really what makes the show, as we are all in together).
It was a perfect sized arena and the ground conditions were spot on for all the precision driving we do. Add to that the lovely sunshine that came out as our first show started and we had a ball.
We were top billing but shared the Arena with Andy Hobbs, who was performing his Quad stunts. It was great to see Andy again.
Also with Andy was an old hero of mine – someone I greatly respected and admired, and still do to this day – and that was Eddie Kid, the Stunt Rider. When at the top of his game Eddie met with an accident which crippled him severely. Now Eddie, who does not shy away from the limelight, has a foundation and does great work for charity.
I really was a pleasure to meet him, and it was also a pleasure to entertain this once great entertainer! Seeing his eye’s wide with excitement at the end of our performance was brilliant. He loved getting soaked too!
So with cars a plenty, as well as bikes and light commercials that were everywhere you looked, there was something for everyone!
The only downside (and it wasn’t really about to classify as a downside!) was that the trade stands were a little thin on the ground. But, I did manage to pick up and old pair of vintage horns for the comedy car, so that was cool.
Here are some photos from the day – some really cool vehicles there!
All in all a very, very good show, which I’d highly recommend you attend next year!
